School Fundraising

Thank you for thinking about raising money to support the Jennifer Trust.

Fundraising can help your school / youth group to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum on Citizenship or youth education programmes. It can also be fun!

There are many ways that your school can help the Jennifer Trust. You could take part in one of the following exciting activities or you could hold your own fundraiser. If you have an exciting idea that you would like to tell us about please let us know. You can contact us by email or by writing to us at the address at the bottom of the page.

Fundraising Ideas

Dress Down Day

Wear your casual clothes for the day and charge everyone £1 each for the privilege.

Sporting Events

Use existing sporting interests, such as football, rugby, cycling, tennis, swimming, running, skateboarding or any other suitable activity to create an event or Fun Day, where the profits raised become a charity donation. Tickets could be sold to watch a football match between teachers and pupils, for example.

You could even make your sporting events into challenges and get sponsored, such as a sponsored Swimathon.

Social Events

Why not organise a social event, such as a karaoke evening where people would pay to perform their favourite pop anthem! Or, you could even hold your own Disco and dance the evening away.

Another fun event, for all those closet Jamie Olivier's amongst you, is to organise a meal with a difference! Prepare a meal that originates from another country, and get everyone to dress up. You could even link it to a bigger event and hold a Murder Mystery Evening and be your very own Miss Marple or Inspector Morse, with everyone coming in character and trying to discover 'Who dunnit'?

Hold a Concert or Show

You could plan a concert, fashion show or variety show. Use local companies, hairdressers and clothes shops to assist in the preparations and don't forget to thank them in the programme. Involve musicians or invite a guest artist to support the programme. Sell tickets in advance and raise extra funds through running a raffle or tombola, and selling drinks and refreshments on the night. In the summer, a BBQ is a great idea!

Organise a sponsored event

There are many ideas for sponsored events here are just a few to get you thinking:

  • Get sponsored to stay silent for the day. I am sure many of your teachers will support this idea!
  • You could organise a sponsored swim, walk, run or bike ride. You could even hold a sponsored bed push!
  • You could even hold a Spookathon and spend the night in a haunted house or castle!

Almost anything can be sponsored - you just need a little imagination! But do take care of your own safety and that of everyone else taking part. If in doubt, please call the Jennifer Trust for advice.

We can provide you and your school with all the support you need. Just call us for a full School Fundraising Pack.
