We are delighted to announce that England and Manchester City goal keeper, David James, donated an astounding £10,000 to the Jennifer Trust as a result of the 'Johnny Charity Challenge'.
Martin Johnson, England's rugby team captain, challenged 3 rugby players and 3 footballers to nominate a charity each and then they were allocated a team in the American Superbowl. The charity nominated by the player who had the winning team got the £10,000!
Anita Macaulay, Chief Executive of the JTSMA says "We were really lucky as David chose us and his team New England Patriots won the Superbowl. "
David presented the cheque to Chris Gordon, on the pitch prior to the Manchester City match on 8th February. Chris Gordon is the son of David's agent Colin; both Chris and his sister Kelly have SMA.
Anita continues "we are really thrilled by David and Colin's support." |
