Xy-Za Coldez from the Phillipines wrote this poem for her son, John Xhedrick C. Cariño - an SMA Type 1 baby. It was written on March 14, 2008, 8:36 pm, at his bedside in the hospital. John Xhedrick died on March 17, 2008 1:15 am at the age of 5 months and 23 days.
He came into my life unexpectedly An angel whose face is magnificent. He is my life, my joy and hapiness How wonderful the times when I'm with him.
When I wake up, I stare at him immediately. At bedtime I still do the same. My day is not complete without him. My world is dull if I don't have him.
Knowing I can't keep him that long, Is like facing my own death. How can I possibly let him go? If this angel is the reason why I'm here.
Now, my life and my angel is in a battle. A battle that he might lose in the end. But my little brave angel is fighting He is indeed a brave soldier for me.
A true definition of courage, My angel did fight until the end For his Dad, Mom and the people who love him. Sleep tight and goodbye, my little brave angel.

Xhedrick you will always be remembered and you will always remain in the heart of the people who love you so much, especially Mommy. Thank you for bringing happiness in our lives. Thank you for making Mommy's life complete. Baby you won the battle because of your braveness. You have received the best and the greatest price, that is being with our almighty God.

We will all miss you. We love you so much. Goodbye for now, John Xhedrick. Goodbye for now my little brave angel... |
