Current Question Coventry Mobility Show 2008........WOW!!
Well what can I say, we have just got back from the mobility show and I have to say .... WOW! That was the best thing we have done since our daughter was diagnosed - there is so much equipment out there and so many different designs that you have to see it to believe it!

Now the dilemma is which powered wheelchair do we go for?!? Personally we like the Snapdragon as it goes right down to the floor and we think it might be good for her to be able to get in and out herself? but the Hippo looks good too!

- has anybody got any experience with either of these machines? Any advice would be great.

We've just got a Snapdragon and it's been fantastic so far. I don't know Hippos at all so can't compare which isn't much help though! :/ Still, we were lucky enough to have a huge amount of help with the cost from the Caudwell Children charity - how do they compare price wise?

The staff at Dragonmobility have also been great, very supportive and approachable. We did have one problem with a faulty part but they were very helpful, firstly sending out a replacement part by special delivery and then when that didn't work, someone came on a 300-mile round trip to fix the problem - excellent!

As for the chair itself, my little boy loves it! He's nearly 3 1/2 now and has SMA2 and he can "run" around (so to speak) for the first time. It's wonderful! He chases his dad giggling all the time! He looks very comfortable and at ease in the chair and has got the hang of it quickly. They're excellent (if pricey!) pieces of equipment.
