Current Question:
	seating
Can anybody help, My son Troy is a year old and has SMA type 2. we are currently on the waiting list for ocupational Therapy and are still about 8 weeks away, can anybody recommend a chair that can support him and he can eat and feel comfortable in. all i have at the momment is a bouncer chair that he is getting to big for. I live in the croydon area. many thanks Jo

My 1 year old son had been recently diagnosed with SMA2 as well. (2 months ago) We are in Canada and have been going to physio and OT regularly. The Physio recommended a BUMBO chair with the tray but I think that I found something better. The brand name is SUMMER INFANT 3 Stage Super Seat. Its similar to a BUMBO (plastic formed seat that sits on the floor) but has a tray that encircles Van with toys and a tray for his favorite treat- Cheerios-. I know in Canada you can get it at Sears (department store)and Toys/Babies R Us and its around $50 Cnd. I passed this info on the physio and she is thrilled that someone finally made a seat like this that is good until approx 4yrs old.

Hi Jo
I really recommend a Jenx corner seat. www.jenx.com
We got ours through the occupational therapist but you can buy them privately. It comes with a velcro strap to hold children upright and allows them to carry on playing without flopping over when they get tired. It also has a tray for eating/playing on.
