Tolerex |
| My 25yr old son Darren has SMA type 111, has low weight and is skinny. We are looking into using Tolerex or UK equivalent for muscle and weight gain. |

Re: Tolerex |
| Hi,I am 34 and have Type III. How old is your son? I am 6'1 and 136#. I have been very thin all my life. I just want to say that weight gain can be a bad thing, since we don't gain muscle it can cause trouble. I have lots of trouble when I gain. I tryed everything to gain weight before I got a DX 4 years ago. Just something to think about. |

Re: Re: Tolerex |
| My 9yr old daughter Aimee has type 3 & is very thin, to the extent that she looks anorexic! However she eats like there's no tomorrow...loves roast beef dinners especially! I figure that maybe because of her condition, she has to use far more calories than your average person because of the extra effort she has to put into everyday things. I know that any excess weight can be problematic, causing extra strain on the muscles, so if Darren's diet is good,, well maybe I wouldn't let it worry you too much...easier said than done though I know. |

Re: Re: Re: Tolerex |
| The most important thing is to make sure he eats several times per day. with less fat for the body to refuel its self it attacks out muscle. I try to eat something every 4 hours other than sleep time. |
