Current Question sma blood test
Hi my husband and i had fertility treatment 12 years ago and we have a boy coming up to the age of 12, when he was 2 we were told that the donor that was used carried the sma gene, they do not think that my boy has sma but are saying he could be a carrier 50/50 chance. We have asked for thenm to do the blood test to see but they are refusing to do it unless we tell our son how he was concieved but we told them that if hes a carrier we will be telling him as he needs to know but if hes not then thats our decision as we were told when we had fertility treatment, but they are still refusing to do it as they say they would be assaulting my child if they did the blood test, im at my witts end as no one will perform this blood test they say that it will not affect my sons health but maybe children he has but i disagree as it would affect his mental health in the long run.why should they have the right to force me in to a situation when its a simple blood test , i could understand if it was a operation, i just dont know what to do im concidering legal advice.
