Has anyone been able too get travel insurance including health that does cover you having SMA type 3?
I can get a policy but it excludes any illness that can be related to SMA e.g. chest infections.
Obviously I do not anticipate getting ill but I also have too be realistic (52 days of travel) but do I take the risk of travelling on a wing and a prayer hoping that I do not get sick with anything that is remotely linked to SMA...
This is a crazy and frustrating world we live in.
Any help appreciated. |

| I am in dispute with NHS re wheelchair provision for my son. They are refusing to supply a raise / lower facility, or a chair to which I could add one. They are advising that NHS does not have to provide as they are not responsible for vertical, only horizontal (!!) mobility. has anyone else had this issue. What have you had funded via NHS? My PCT will not provide a voucher. |

| Hi, the fsma website has an interesting idea for first day of school, sending a letter to the parents lightly explaining sma to help ease a child into mainstream school. Has anyone else done this, I am v conscious that my son will be the only child in a powered wheel-chair and want to nip some questions in the bud now, anyone any thoughts or suggestions? |

| My son enjoys his chair - a little too much and already its showing signs of wear and tear which made me realise insurance would be a good idea, what insurers are others using and what are the premiums typically. |
