Saturday 4th June 2005 - keep this date clear in your diary for this fantastic event organised by Roy Twycross! The JTSMA are delighted to be the beneficiaries of this event again this year.
What to Expect

For the third year running, this unique event is to be held in Dorset, at the Wyevale Garden Centre in Owermoigne, on the main A352 between Dorchester and Wareham.
The day will open at 10.00am and run through the day giving passenger rides up and down the A352 until 4.00pm. You can expect to see 15-20 Ferraris!

The organisers ask for a "minimum donation" of £10. This will get people an approximate 10 minute ride out onto the A352 and and beyond.
Latest News for This Year's Event
Roy writes that he has been busy gathering prizes offered and bought for the Ride In A Ferrari day on 4th June 2005. The prizes will be raffled or auctioned on the day and include:
- A slick racing tyre (the base of your next coffee table perhaps?)
- A hooded top, with Nigel Mansell Texaco Racing printed on the front, produced when Nigel Mansell raced in America for the Newman Haas Indycar team.
- A plastic sign with a red "F40" logo.
- Not to mention...
...Roy has managed to source two fantastic items that he will be selling as 'silent auction' lots throughout the day:
- a Ferrari baseball cap signed by none other than Michael Schumacher, now seven-times Formula One World Champion. The hat was kindly sent by the PA of Ross Brawn, Ferrari's Grand Prix Director of Engineering (Technical Director) all the way from Italy!
- a painting of Nigel Mansell in the 1989 Ferrari 640 Formula One, signed by the man himself and has the picture described on the back of the frame
Roy adds 'For 2005, we will have the four anniversary top-of-the-range Ferrari's attending. They are in order of production date: the 288 GTO (1984), the F40 (1987) (previously brought along); the F50 (1997) and the new Enzo (introduced 2002 and named after the founder of the company). These have been organised to attend by one owner from London who is also the proud owner of two of these marvellous machines. We should also have studio shot pictures of the four cars available to sell in aid of the Jennifer Trust for SMA on the day.'

Roy, being a Ferrari enthusiast has his own favourite model: the 456GT. One of these will also be making an appearance this year too!

Roy is also working on contacting celebreties to attend the event. Last year's event was attended by Ben Oliver, features editor for Autocar magazine, and Local MP, Mr Jim Knight.
