Dare you walk on Hot Coals or Glass for Charity?
 Fearless individuals are being encouraged to take part in possibly the shortest sponsored walk they may ever experience for the Jennifer Trust, the catch is they will be walking on hot coals, glass or even both! Walking on Hot Coals and Glass may sound like a rather dangerous challenge to take up, but there are reasons why it is physically possible.
This event is being facilitated by experienced Fire and Ice Walk company BLAZE.
Glass Walk
Registration - 5pm, Training - 5.30pm, The Walk - 6.30pm
The glass walk will be the first event of the night. Prior to stepping foot on the broken glass participants will take part in a Fear Buster seminar called "Autogenic Relaxation", designed to equip them with the resources to walk unharmed across 20' of razor sharp shards from a thousand broken wine bottles.
The training is based around proven motivational and psychological methods. It does not involve any element of hypnosis, spiritual training, chanting, "brainwashing", voodoo or any similar methodologies. It is however, tremendous fun!
The course will: -
- Increase confidence and self-esteem
- Release fears and doubts
- Breakthrough limiting beliefs and conditioning
- Transform your fear into positive action
- Contain lots of fun and laughter
After the sixty-minute training seminar you will be led out to the glass and given the opportunity, one by one, to walk across the 20' glass bed. After the event you will then be led back to the training room to share your experiences with each other.
Fire Walk
Registration - 6.30pm, Training - 7pm, The Walk - 9pm
The Fire Walk will take place later in the evening. It will begin with a Fear Buster seminar called 'Learn or Burn', designed to equip you with the resources to walk unharmed across 20' of wood embers burning at 1236 degrees Fahrenheit. The training is based around proven motivational and psychological methods. It does not involve any element of hypnosis, spiritual training, chanting, 'brainwashing, voodoo or any similar methodologies. It is however, tremendous fun! The instructor is a world class authorised Blaze 'Fire master' instructor who has undergone a minimum of 200 fire walking events to qualify for the title, he is also an officially recognised British Record Holder.
Once the training seminar has finished, the instructor will lead you and fellow walkers outside to where the fire walk has been burning away whilst the training has been in progress. After a short debrief around the fire bed you will be instructed to take your shoes and socks off and line up ready. Once the all clear sign has been given by the head of the fire team, the instructor will send a member of Blaze across first to make sure the fire bed feels correct and even. Once the ok signal is given, you will be told by the instructor when to go!
