Wyevale Garden Centre
Owermoigne, Dorset
The 10th Anniversary event will again see rides being given on the A352 Wareham Road at Owermoigne. The aim of the event is just to give the general public in the south Dorset area the chance to see, sit in and indeed ride in, cars that they might only otherwise see on television or in magazines.
For a minimum donation of £10, members of the public can take the opportunity of a passenger ride in one of these fantastically exciting high-performance cars.

Roy is hoping once again that he will see a large turnout of these desirable and exciting cars - up to 20 in all.

Roy is expecting many more cars to this year's event. The main attraction of the Ferraris will include a 250GT Lusso, two 246 GT Dinos, a 575 Super America, a number of the 308, 328, 348, F355 and 360 series cars, plus newer models and current production cars like the F430 variants and 599 GTB Fiorano. Guest cars this year should include a Bentley Continental GT, a Jaguar XJS and possibly a number of Corvette's or a Maserati.

More about Ride in a Ferrari Events
This article is also by way of an open invitation to any members of the Ferrari Owners Club and the Prancing Horse Register (for non-Ferrari owning enthusiasts within the Ferrari Owners Club) that will be reading this preview, to take part in the event, either to give rides in your car or to help run the event along with Roy's family and friends.
This year's running of Ride In A Ferrari, again in Dorset, will see the 10th Anniversary of the original event organised and run by Roy Twycross at Haynes Museum near Yeovil in Somerset, back in 1999. The event remained in Yeovil until 2003, when it moved to the Wyevale Garden Centres at Owermoigne in south east Dorset. Last year's event was held elsewhere, but for 2009, the event will be returning to Wyevale Garden Centre.
It looks as though this 10th Anniversary event will be the last. Roy says due to his health, increased demands on his time and others, he has decided to take a well-earned break from organising after 2009.
So far the series has raised nearly £20,000 for good causes, with nearly £10,000 donated to the Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Roy would like to thank all those who have made this possible and who have made him proud to be associated with the Ferrari Owners Club and of course the Jennifer Trust in that time.
If you would like to contact Roy concerning this event you may reach him on 01305 826996 (evenings and weekends).
