Dealing with bullying

Bullying causes intense misery and often has a serious effect on those that are being bullied

If you are being bullied, tell a friend, tell a teacher and tell your parents. It can be hard to do this, so if you feel that you cannot do it in person, it might be easier to write a note to your parents- explaining how you feel. Perhaps you could confide in cousins or grandparents?

Your teacher also needs to know whats happening. Find time to tell the teacher when it won’t be so noticeable to the bully.

Bullying is very upsetting but by telling someone you are moving forward and helping to stop it.

Remember, you don’t deserve to be bullied; you have just had the misfortune to come up against a very nasty person.

Bullying includes

People calling you names, making things up to get you into trouble, hitting, pinching, biting, pushing, shoving, taking things from you, damaging your belongings, stealing your money, posting insulting messages on the internet, sending offensive texts.

How can I protect myself from being bullied?
Don’t ignore bullying-it wont go away on it’s own and it may get worse
Tell someone you trust- like a teacher, parent or friend
Remember it’s not your fault. No one deserves to be bullied
